Start by selecting a 15-minute slot for each day of the week to read a new chapter.

Morning, night, it doesn’t matter.

Choose a time and set an alarm.

Even if you skim a chapter, don’t skip a day.

This simple act signals to the subconscious that you are now walking a disciplined Path and taking control.

I recommend starting with Practice #1.

After this brief introduction to mental training, if you are primarily interested in losing weight and/or building muscle, skip to “Part II: BODY.” Implement the programs, then jump back into “Part I: MIND.”

As with martial arts, there is no right or wrong.

Unlike most Western creeds with their dogmatic and highly regimented approaches, the spirit of Eastern philosophy is akin to that of a free-flowing river winding around rocks and under fallen trees, teaching us to adopt what works at any given time and leave the rest without judgment.
